On – the – job Training at the DAR

My on the job training last summer held at the Department of Agrarian Reform. April 17, 2008 which I started my OJT at the DAR they assign me at the PMEU Department. PMEU stands for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluating Unit. Mr. Rowel Flamiano was my boss and he also a programmer on the said department. First day of my OJT in the PMEU has a lot of mix feelings that I feel. It’s because I’m very excited and also nervous, excited because I want to learn and develop my skills and enhance my knowledge about new things to be discovered, nervous because of traits and atittude of my boss.

First week of my OJT is the hectic week because I started my work as a encoder. I encode no. of areas of a land which is difficult to understand. They using a data base for storing additional files. It is hard time and stressful to do that because the files has a lot of mistakes and need for changing. But it’s ok, because I have learned so much about their database system.

Second and third week of my OJT was a busy day for me because I entered their system called ARB. ARB stands for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries. It came from Maynila, the main department of DAR. ARB system is a difficult one because if you have remaining table to be encode it shows that you should fill – up atleast a period and you can proceed to another table. Their system shows an error if you have a mistake in a word and no. It is also one of their problem is lack of information in their data and it connects to their system. I’m thinking so much if that system and of course it cause me of having a headache and I feel tired and hungry because of working on their computer. Then I learn how to use their (Presto Image Scanner) because it’s needed to ARB system. The picture and signature of the people that need in their system have a very important to do with. I apply my skills in Photo Shop it is because the photo’s that stores in their files needed to change and edit.

In my last day of my OJT that’s June 12, I felt happy and sad. Happy because I finish my work in DAR and I’m very lucky to have a boss like Sir Rowel, Mam Vivian, Mam Moñean and to all the staff and employee of DAR , they are good to me and they always in my side if I have a question to them about my work. Sad because, I will miss my work and also the bondings that I will treasure in my memories.  

Captivating Capiz – Municipality of Dumalag

Dumalag, one of the central towns in the province of Capiz. Located by the slopes of several mountain on hilly but fertile land irrigated by the Panay and Malisbug rivers and other rivulets. Bounded by Dao, Dumarao, Cuartero, Calinog and Tapaz. It was founded by the Augustinians in 1590, formerly known as “ayombon”. But in 1613 the original name was replaced with Dumalag.

Several folklore have been counted on how the town came to be called. One version attributed to the “dumalaga” or “Spring Chicken” where could have been abundance during the spaniards arrival. Another legends attribute to one of its Patron Saint MArtin of Tours, who imprinted his images and that of his horse against the stiff, rocky white wall of Mt. Panginraon  after routing the “pulahan” . And last, when spaniards came , the women laundering in the river were asked the name of the town. The question was about the yellow fallen leaves of a tree floating on the river, the answered was “dalag” meaning “yellow” thus the name Dumalag came. In terms of transportation, bus or jeepney, has approximately one hour and thirty minutes drive and run 45 kms. distance from Roxas City. It is practically two to three half hours from Kalibo and two hours from IloIlo City by the same means of transportation.

The second biggest church in Capiz was founded in 1590 under the advocation of Saint Martin Bishop of Tours. The churh, made of yellow sand stone, is 70 m and 18 m wide. It has two doors at the side and one in front, six arched windows between columns reaching up to the roof which is suported by massive buttresses.It has five bells brought in 1881 by Fr. Lesmes Perez.

The leading natural attraction of Dumalag is the Suhot Springs and caves being marked by the towering Panginraon range. It is located about  one and a half kilometer distance from the town center. The natural bridge and the famed caves of Suhot lead into minimally explored caverns which are claimed to strech neighboring municiplaity. The many chambers of the Suhot caves are grown over with stalactites and stalagmites of considerables size and lengts. At the mouth of the caves, near the natural bridge, is a spring with surfurous, salty water that is considered by the local folks as healthy for bathing. In more recent years, Suhot Spring and caves have become a favorite destination for people coming from other places that visiting Dumalag. 

Arlyn D. Fajanil Personal Vitae

                                       

Arlyn D. Fajanil was born on the 7th of July 1988 in Poblacion Dumalag, Capiz. The second oldest daughter of Mr.Roberto Felicierta Fajanil who is a electronics and Mrs. Merlinda Durana a responsible and loving house wife.

She graduated her elementary education at Dumalag Central School, her secondary education at Dumalag Central National High School and pursues her college at Filamer Christian College, Roxas Avenue, Roxas City taking up Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. 

During Her vacant time she hanged out with her friends by shoppingat the Gaisano and other place in Roxas. She loves to sing and dance, txt2 in her cp and explore the internet. She is also adventurous type of person.

She has a simple faire complexion and a height 5″2′. Enjoying and friendly gesture in time that you can look or notice her.She aloso a good listener if you have a problem,she willing to give some advice that can help other people. She love music such us love song, rnb, pop and other that can relate to her.

Also a nice person with positive looks in mind. She realy want to develop and gain more knowledge throught sharing ideas and experience things to be discover. To enhance also her self-esteem, self confidence had ability of her philosophy in life.

Who am I?

Thats realy a big question on my mind.I dont even know  what is the answer on my question.All i want is to be what I am To be.”Nakaka sakit ng ulo kung isipin”.There a lot of time to know my self  better.First I consider my self as a human being and a student, I will prefer my self as a simple person.A simple person has a lot things to do with.Like I can go where ever i want and I acquire to be adventureous person.I want a place that give me more sentimental memories.It’s realy important to know ur self better?diffinetly because every one of us can’t be yourself if you don’t know, understand, and accept yourself first. Try to take time to yourself and contemplate on your life and choices.
